March 2023 working bee

Plenty of activity at the garden for the March 25 working bee. The weather was good too, not too hot. Nicole worked on weeding and tidying up the plots while Gilles installed a pre-made frame for one of the plots. Sue tidied up the spring onions which were looking a little overgrown with weeds again. Selina trimmed up some of the herbs in tyres around the orchard; she’s famous for her “chop and drop” technique but the fruit trees quite like a bit of coverage. Jacqui tackled the cucumber plot, which was fairly bereft of cucumbers this year but had a fine crop of butternut pumpkins, quite a popular pumpkin.
